7th-12th Grade Fall 2021 Info

  • If your child is interested in trying out for either modified (7th & 8th graders), JV or Varsity (9th-12th graders) field hockey then parents/guardians must first register for Family ID, once registered you will then need to register to tryout for field hockey in the fall.  This 2nd step includes your child’s health history and review, all physicals need to be up to date (within the last 12 months) and need to be either emailed or dropped off to your child’s school nurse.  All information regarding the Family ID and registration process can be found @ https://egcsd.org/2021/07/23/online-registration-for-fall-sports-begins-july-23/.
    • Your child cannot tryout without completing this two-step process and ensuring that your child is showing up as approved on the Family ID system.
  • Tryouts for JV & Varsity begin Monday August 23rd at 7:30 am on the CHS turf, modified tryouts begin Monday August 30th at 10am on the Genet athletic fields (see master schedule tab above for a complete tryout schedule).
    • All players trying out will need to bring with them:
      • a stick,
      • molded mouth guard (bottom and top if braces on both),
      • shin guards,
      • enough water to get them through practice,
      • healthy snack(s),
      • both cleats & sneakers,
      • face mask (in case there is a need to go inside).
    • VARSITY & JV PLAYERS:
      • MUST be able to complete a 2 mile-run with NO WALKING.
      • If you do not have your equipment you cannot play.
      • If you are not approved (all parents have been notified) through the health office, then you cannot play.
    • MODIFIED PLAYERS:
      • We do have loaner sticks upon request, please let us know ahead of time.
  • ALL TRYOUTS/PRACTICES AND GAMES ARE MANDATORY – FOR THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF PRACTICE AND GAMES.
    • If your child has a conflict please let your coach know well in advance.
      • Missed, arriving late/leaving early will affect playing time (we understand emergencies do arise and we will take individual situations into consideration).
